Tricolage Renews Its GSTC Tour Operator Certification for Another Year!

27 / 02 / 2025

We are proud to announce that Tricolage has successfully renewed its Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Tour Operator Certification by Control Union for another year. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to upholding the highest standards of sustainable tourism, ensuring that our operations continue to align with global best practices.

The GSTC certification evaluates businesses based on four key pillars of sustainability:

  • Sustainable Management – Implementing long-term strategies that balance business growth with responsible tourism.
  • Socio-Economic Impact – Supporting local communities through ethical tourism initiatives that contribute to economic well-being.
  • Cultural Impact – Preserving and promoting local traditions, heritage, and authenticity.
  • Environmental Impact – Minimizing ecological footprints.

Since first achieving certification in 2022—becoming the first tour operator in Japan to do so—Tricolage has remained dedicated to leading the way in sustainable tourism. This renewal underscores our ongoing commitment to responsible travel, ensuring that we continue to offer meaningful, high-quality experiences that benefit both travelers and local communities.

Comment from Benjamin Wong, CEO of Tricolage:

“Our renewal of the GSTC Tour Operator Certification for the second consecutive year is a testament to our long-term commitment to sustainability. At Tricolage, we believe responsible tourism is not just a goal but an ongoing journey. We will continue to prioritize sustainability in every aspect of our operations, striving to set a high standard for the industry in Japan and beyond.”
